The road is old
He's going home

We'll bray like two goats
Down the road
Shamefully slow

Watch how the stars that burn
Flicker and fade
Then suddenly fall

My bones were thrown in the lake
The moon is cold
She's rowing home
And you're late

We'll meet once more
Upon that shore
To pull the sky out smooth as sheets
For ghosts, clammoring clash
Water teems like widening streams
Forms roads that we can take back

We'll row like two boats
Out past the road
And into the night

Masts and our sails billow
You've arrived
So I'm alright

And we will ride again
The road, the ocean
The sky is wide
And seems to be openin'
